A Better You in 7 Days: Challenge

The 7 day challenge

How many times have you heard of a star’s marriage failing? Isn’t it strange that we as a society view movies and TV stars as flawless, living a life of wealth and glamour? Perhaps it’s time to stop sticking our heads in the clouds? Shouldn’t we make an effort, not to lose our awareness of self? What does it require to be a cut above the rest? I challenge you, to take the next 7 days and reflect on the thoughts below.

Day 1. Know your goals
Have you been drifting through life with little guidance – Trusting that you’ll find prosperity, health and well-being? Think about and write down your life purpose or mission statement. This may seem tricky at first. You may see yourself at a dead end. Sometimes a dead end is really a fork in the road. Change your direction, change in your life.

Day 2. Understand your values
What do you value most? Is it security, freedom, family, religious growth, learning? Whatever it is, invest more time in improving it. Take a class or pick up a new book. There is always room for growth.

Day 3. Know your needs
Your needs can keep you from living authentically. Take good care of yourself. Do you have a need to be acknowledged, to be correct, to maintain control, to be adored? There are so many individuals who live their lives without understanding their dreams and many of these end up being stressed or even for that matter, depressed. List your top four needs and get them met before it is too late!

Day 4. Understand your inner fire
You understand exactly what you actually appreciate in life and who you’re. Don’t be hindered by barriers like uncertainty and lack of enthusiasm. It could de-rail your opportunity to be the person you are destined to be. Express yourself and honor those who came before you.

Day 5. Live from the inside out
Increase your awareness of your internal wisdom by reflecting in silence. Inhale and exhale to quiet your mind. For most of us, it’s challenging to even find the peace and quiet we need even in our own homes. I often just sit in a dimly lit room and play some classical music. Music does soothe the soul. Give it a try.

Day 6. Your strengths rock
What are your positive traits? What unique abilities do you have? Are you really imaginative, witty, good with your hands? Find ways to express yourself through your gifts and share your light.

Day 7. Serve others
It is great to work on self-improvement in the workplace, but, there is more to life than just work. Look for ways to give of yourself, in service. Feed your desire for a purpose by giving. What better way to share your spirit?
